The Motion Project "BeyondSkin" Kids' Musical Workshop |

Brought to GIPS by and on behalf of Cooltura Polish Community Association, the Motion Project are providing the entertainment to celebrate the arrival of Spring with a musical workshop for children to join in and have fun. Come along and experience the multi-cultural sounds and music from around the world. 6pm-8pm, all families are welcome. |

PTA Family Quiz Night |

For the 1st time, the PTA have decided to extend a welcome to children and their families to our tranditional quiz nights in the school assembly hall. This will be a chance for families to pull together and demonstrate their vast general knowledge. There will be questions for all ages to participate in. Come along with your families and have some fun. Some great prizes will be available and all proceeds will help the PTA futher their fabulous fundraising initiatives to help us get further interactive whiteboards into our classrooms. |

GIPS Wind-band to Newry Feis 08 |

Our school wind-band will be heading off to enter the Newry Feis today, along with Hazelwood IPS. This year marks the first of a combined wind-band most ably led by Miss M Ferguson. We wish them luck. Perhaps they can hold onto the silver trophy they won last year! |

The Wizard of Oz |

We are visited in the afternoon from 12pm-2pm by the M&M Theatre Company who will be performing "The Wizard of Oz" to all our children from P1-7. Some of the children may even be selected to take part in the show. |

P7 Confirmations |

Today marks a special occasion in the growth of GIPS. This will be the 1st time pupils now in P7 will make their confirmation since the school was transformed to integrated status in 2003. To mark this special occasion, we intend to close school at 12.10pm. No lunches will be served today. The service of confirmation will take place at 4pm in St Bernard's Church, Antrim Rd, and all families and pupils are most welcome to come along and see our first pupils representing the school for the first time, make their confirmation. |

PSNI Multi-Agency Activity Day |

The PSNI have organised an activity and information day for P7 at Ballyearl. All the emergency services and public services will be present to inform children of their services and give them an opportunity to explore their public roles. |

P7 Outdoor Adventure Residential Trip 07/08 |

Primary 7 will be heading off for 4 days and 3 nights to the Tain Adventure Centre in OMeath, Co. Louth this week. Here they will take part in exciting outdoor activities and develop their qualities of responsibility, independence and strengths of character. Hopefully as well as being great fun at the end of their time in GIPS, it will also help prepare them for the move to Post-Primary School. Find out more at www.tainadventure.net |

Join us for our traditional sports day at 1230 for KS1 and 1pm for KS2. Then come over to the PTA sausage sizzle and have some fun in the playground with face-painting, go-karts and other fun games. |

Hats & Shades Non-Uniform Day - in aid of Children's Cancer Fund |

Bring along a pound today and donate it to an important charity - the Children's Cancer Fund. In return you can come to school today in your own clothes. Whatever you want to wear for the day. If it is nice and sunny, don't forget you hat, your shades and your sun-cream. |

Today marks the celebration of the P4 children taking the second of their sacraments, Holy Communion. The service starts at 10am in St Bernard's Church, Antrim Rd. Do please come along and support your friends in this their special day. |
